Springfield OR to Fortuna CA (557 kms/346 miles)

A fairly typical travel day. It was one of my favourite drives, along Hwy 126 west to the coast and down US Hwy 101S. The drive is very pretty and it is always nice to get to the ocean and see the huge waves.

I can't say that this town we are at tonight, Fortuna, is my favourite place I have ever been. It is about 20 miles south of Eureka CA. Unfortunately, when you are just buzzing through an area, you don't always see the good side of a city. It will do for tonight. We are at a nice, clean Super 8 Hotel. The Eel River Pub, across the street, was busy but the food was good.
