Happy Canada Day - July 1st!

We celebrated our 46th Wedding Anniversary on July 2nd. Hard to believe that we have married for THAT long!  We are always happy to have my mom, Nadyne join us for craziness (since she has been part of the craziness for that many years as well!)

July 8th - We attended our nephew's wedding in Kelowna. Such a beautiful event. It was the first ever time that the little boys had attended a wedding. They were pretty stoked. Unfortunately, Teagan and family could not attend.

July 9th - Mark and Carmen (my brother and sister-in-law, parents of the groom) continued on with the celebration with a pool party at their home in Vernon.

After leaving Kelowna we stopped overnight in Golden BC. We had to give Eurii a day of camping. Whispering Spruce Campground. Great spot to spend a day or two.

We carried on to Alberta after the wedding for a visit with Doug's family. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as happy an occasion as my sister-in-law, Agnes (Doug's brother's wife) passed away unexpectedly, just two days after we got there, Wed July 12th. So sad. Life is fragile and it reminded us that we should never take it for granted. We were glad to be there to lend support, even if it is just for a few days. She was a lovely spirit and human. She will be dearly missed by Duane (Doug's brother), their son Kyle, his partner Amanda and granddaughter Fenix).

Phew, that was really hard. We know that they will all have difficult days ahead but slowly they will regain their footing.

We were blessed to be able to visit with Doug's Mom, Helen who will turn 101 in October. She is doing well thanks to all the love and support we gets from Doug's sister, Diane, husband Brian, Duane and family.

Sun July 16 - We left Medicine Hat early in order to make the drive to the Kootenays in one day, about 8 hrs. We really enjoy the drive from Alberta on the Crowsnest Hwy 3, to the Kootenay's. Spectacular scenery and we enjoy it no matter how many times we drive it.

Boy do they know how to load these ferries, squeezing in every inch of space. It's a free ferry and well worth the ride for sure!

July 18 to 22nd - Rudy-sitting duties since Teagan had to work and Shawn was out of town. We LOVE spending time with Rudy. We don't get to do it nearly often enough so we try and soak up every moment. Onto Rudy duty!!

Okay Eurii - time to go home...

Looking back on the time away, it went from some pretty highs to some very low lows and back up again. Very emotional time. It was time to go home and re-group.

That's all I have for now.  We are headed out for another one week camping trip to Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park starting August 1st so that will be enjoyable. Stay tuned after we get home for the craziness of that trip. It just might involve a rafting trip for some of the group....
