Good grief - I'm not sure where to start so let's start with what has been going on. I'll capsulate our events to bring everyone up to date.. It's a long read so get your bathroom break in now and THEN get your beverage.
MAY LONG WEEKEND (May 21-24):
Once again we spent our time at Golden Ears Provincial Park. In order to book any kind of campsite in the metro Vancouver area, you have to book many additional days BEFORE the actual long weekend. Case in point....in order for us to get in on a long weekend that started on a Friday, we had to book our site starting on the Tuesday before. Now, this is quite fine as we are "old retired people" now but if a person still is working it is pretty darn hard to get so many extra days off. Luckily, we almost always book a double site so we are fortunate.
RUDY IS 5!!!
Where did this time go? We cannot believe that our beautiful little guy is 5 years old!! He is articulate, charming, loves his dinos, Lego, creating art projects. He can walk you down the trail behind their house and show you all manners of vegetation and the correct names. He is our A&W companion. We love you SO much Rudy!!!!
TWO WEEK TRIP IN FILMORE:
Well, this was fun. We left our home in White Rock on June 19th and headed to the interior of BC. The stayed in the Kootenays to visit family and then meandered home. We were gone for a total of two weeks. It did, unfortunately, occur during our "heat dome" which put some of the interior temps at 45+ Celsius. There were some difficulties encountered during that time. We had to make our way back through the interior which is already hot enough in the summer to the Grand Forks Municipal Campgrounds so we could hook up to full power and use our AC's. Not our cup of tea. The temp on the nose of the motorhome at that time was 48.9 C. Even too hot for us heat worshipers!!
