August 6 to 10: Less than one week after we got the trailer (and the Pathfinder for that matter), we were off camping at Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park. Super fun.....

New trailer camping
Continuing On.....
Hope that last read was enjoyable. Let's keep on going:
After coming back from the summer outings we made the very difficult decision to sell Filmore. We bought the motorhome to live the full-time "dream" but Covid changed those plans. Not having stability in housing was difficult for me to begin with but not even knowing what was open, closed, available......it was just too much to contemplate. If we had a crystal ball and knew what had been coming we would never had bought the motorhome. So now to sell it.
Doug had done SO much extra work to the running gear, brakes, etc. After advertising, less than one week and Filmore was gone. Off to live a new adventure in the Prince George area. Hope they love it as much as we did for our short time. We lost zero money so that was good!
So now introducing:
Doug has since added airbags to the Pathfinder. You can hardly tell the trailer is behind us when we are driving. It is well under the maximum weight load for the Pathfinder so that's good.
We are happy to be "small" again.....
Peace friends.....

Let's begin again.....
Good grief - I'm not sure where to start so let's start with what has been going on. I'll capsulate our events to bring everyone up to date.. It's a long read so get your bathroom break in now and THEN get your beverage.
MAY LONG WEEKEND (May 21-24):
Once again we spent our time at Golden Ears Provincial Park. In order to book any kind of campsite in the metro Vancouver area, you have to book many additional days BEFORE the actual long weekend. Case in point....in order for us to get in on a long weekend that started on a Friday, we had to book our site starting on the Tuesday before. Now, this is quite fine as we are "old retired people" now but if a person still is working it is pretty darn hard to get so many extra days off. Luckily, we almost always book a double site so we are fortunate.
RUDY IS 5!!!
Where did this time go? We cannot believe that our beautiful little guy is 5 years old!! He is articulate, charming, loves his dinos, Lego, creating art projects. He can walk you down the trail behind their house and show you all manners of vegetation and the correct names. He is our A&W companion. We love you SO much Rudy!!!!
TWO WEEK TRIP IN FILMORE:
Well, this was fun. We left our home in White Rock on June 19th and headed to the interior of BC. The stayed in the Kootenays to visit family and then meandered home. We were gone for a total of two weeks. It did, unfortunately, occur during our "heat dome" which put some of the interior temps at 45+ Celsius. There were some difficulties encountered during that time. We had to make our way back through the interior which is already hot enough in the summer to the Grand Forks Municipal Campgrounds so we could hook up to full power and use our AC's. Not our cup of tea. The temp on the nose of the motorhome at that time was 48.9 C. Even too hot for us heat worshipers!!

Not Been Away, that's for sure!
Wow, I've just got nothing to tell everyone. It's not that we don't enjoy ourselves with the little things but this waiting and waiting is getting "long in the tooth" if you know what I mean!
Let's see where we are......
We did go for a day-camping trip up to Golden Ears Park near the end of February. This was for part of Jasper's 6th birthday celebration. Like many kids, he didn't have the "normal" birthday party. Instead, he wanted to be able to roast hot dogs at the campground. That's what we did. (In case anyone is wondering, we are the "bubble" family together so it is fine for us to be together - lucky for us that's for sure.)
It was amazing to see how many people were up at Golden Ears that were actually camping. It wasn't very warm but it could have been worse, that's for sure. I'm not sure what we were expecting but it wasn't to see so many folks up there. It was nice for BC Parks coffers.
After that I kept myself busy packing up and moving my Mom. She moved to an awesome active seniors living community and is loving it. Phew!!
So now we wait. Doug is due to retire at the end of this month (yippee) and he can't wait. We will stay in our condo for now as, like everyone else, we aren't sure what Covid has in store. Meanwhile we will begin a bit of work on Filmore (our motorhome), just some redecorating things. We unfortunately believe that our dreams of going to Tuktoyuktuk this summer have been dashed but we will just have to plan ahead for next year. We are hoping to at least be able work our way around BC's parks. Again, here's hoping.
Got my vaccine on Saturday. Pretty happy about that. Doug gets his on Friday this week.
So, that's it. Hope you are all keeping healthy and safe.
Peace out friends.
