 Just a little sneak preview of our new whip.....2006 Jeep Cherokee. Pretty sweet vehicle with low miles. Should do us well with a good sized motor for pulling a small trailer. Looking over the Hope slide earlier this month.

Josh, Kathy & boys headed up to Golden Ears Provincial Park on one of the weekends in May. We went up on the Saturday and crashed their little camping party and stayed overnight. You have seen pictures of our adventures up here before. Always a great time here. No cell service so there is only relaxing availability with your family and friends. Perfect.

Since we no longer have the van to camp in we are just "boon docking" with them. They bought themselves a great tent trailer last month. It is very large and I think it will fit them for quite some time. With two busy boys, they will need the nice amount of space that they have in it. Good for them......We lent them our Jeep for towing as their Jeep Liberty isn't quite rigged up yet. It is a pretty attractive Jeep, if I must say so myself.

I do love camping in B.C. So much to learn about here in this great province of ours.

 

Next weekend, the long weekend, we are M-O-V-I-N-G!!! We are moving to "uptown" White Rock, just up the hill from where we lived on Beachview Avenue, above the pier. We are super excited for this two bedroom condo. It is much bigger and a layout that suits us better. Best opportunity we have had in a long time. We certainly enjoyed our time near the beach and are lucky that this one is only about 10 minutes further up the hill from the beach. I will post pictures when we have all the boxes unpacked and have it all straightened out and looking pretty!!

Changes.....

Well, the first change is that, we made the very difficult decision to sell Euri. It really was a back and forth decision that started over a year ago. We have had SO many great adventures in the van but these long trips with such a small vehicle have been enough. So, after 6 years and over 130,000 kms, he is gone. Thanks for the great memories Euri. Thanks for carrying us safely, to and fro. New owners will continue the fun with you!!

Yes, a tear or two was shed.......and in a funny way, continues to be.

However, on to more adventures (eventually) with a little larger vehicle. We have decided on a small trailer (up to 19 ft) to be towed with our new (to us) 2006 Jeep.....picture to follow shortly.

Other big change is the fact that we BOTH now work full-time. Well, I work 4 days per week and look after our little boys one day per week. Doug just started working at a great company, California Import Parts in Purchasing. He is super excited for the opportunity. Well, other than the alarm going off Monday to Friday! Time to give those investments a little rest since the markets aren't doing so great these days. We both are good for the decision and are looking forward to the changes that this brings to our lives. 

 

So, sadly no more Mexico adventures for us for the next three years or so. Understandably, some or most of you will cease to check in on the blog as we are no longer "adventuring" in the same way. I hope though, that I am wrong and you will occasionally check in to see what we are doing. We actually have a few more exciting announcements to come in the next few days.

Happy Mothers Day

Wishing both our Moms, Nadyne Tamas and Helen Beglaw a most wonderful and joyful Mother's Day.

Doug's Mom, Helen, lives in Alberta so we didn't get to see her but we are hoping that she can feel our love from here. It was great to talk to her and she is sounding great. We are very fortunate that Doug's brother and sister live nearby so we are sure she was spoiled with their love today.

My Mom, Nadyne, lives here in the Lower Mainland but Doug & I spent our weekend up in Nelson with Teagan and Shawn (more about that later.....). We were on the road early this morning, heading back here to White Rock so we never got to see her either!! Sheesh, what kind of kids are we anyway!! Luckily, we got to see Mom on Thursday but it's not "quite" the same!!

So, to both ladies that are so very important and special in our lives, we wish you all our love on this Mother's Day. You both continue to inspire us and fill our hearts with your love. You have stood by us forever and a day, always there with kind words (or a kick in the butt) whichever was needed, hugs, cookies, stern words, good laughs, tears and even your car but mostly and always, thanks for your LOVE......  

We are very lucky indeed.......
