Cast your eyes on our "new to us" 17 ft Bigfoot trailer. We are pretty stoked!!
That 17 ft looks big to me!!!
We are pretty stoked about it. No, we don't have a name for it. Maybe we will just call it the Bigfoot. A few decorating/tweaking touches and we will have it tuned up to our tastes in the spring. Doug has some interesting plans for the outside. For those not familiar with the Bigfoot, they are a very old name in trailers. They are fiberglass and are built with the only one seam around the middle, on the side about halfway down. I call it the clamshell. We are hoping that it will help alleviate any leaking problems....who am I kidding!?
Anyway, we have already had some work done on it. Nothing unexpected. We knew when we bought it that some things needed doing so we just decided to get everything done right away. We are still waiting for the new awning fabric to come in. Doug plans on picking up new wheels and tires in the spring. Me, I want to redo the upholstery and floors, oh, and blinds too!! Now, about that new striping kit for the outside....hmmmm.
Welcome to our travelling family, Mr. Bigfoot!!
So, forward we go to Thanksgiving. We spent two nights up at Golden Ears Provincial Park in the Golden Ears Mountains. Even though it rained on our way up there, it was an amazing weekend. It was our inaugural trip in the Bigfoot!!
I think it passes the Gus and Jasper test (and the Grandpa Doug test too!)
Paula & Jerry - Mr. Lobster isn't hung up quite right, but he also
made the inaugural trip to Golden Ears, hanging out with the pumpkin lights....
That is a B-I-G mushroom/toadstool!
A little boy and a puddle...say no more.
Some people even bring their living room loungers!!!
No, this is not our campsite!!!
Pancakes with Grandpa!
I think they pass the "Gus" test.....
Despite all the rain warnings, we had a most sunny Thanksgiving day!
However, just to ensure that we all stayed warm, we had our famous Beglaw "camping coffee" mix. Equal parts of Kahlua, Bailey/Carolans type Cream and Peppermint
Schnapps. We usually just mix them in a big bowl at home and then pour them
back into the bottles. Who needs to waste time mixing while camping??
shhhh, don't tell Starbucks. They will want the recipe too!!
So, before heading out for a walk, I "encouraged" the turkey to
fit in our little oven.....it was a bit high.
I won.....Just sayin'
My victory drink in my "Rose all Day" shirt by Danna!!
I know, crazy pink boots to match......
One of the things we love about Golden Ears Provincial Park, other than it's obvious beauty is it's close proximity to home. It's really hard to believe that we are just one hour from White Rock. Once you get up here there is no cell service (except for sporadic here at the beach). You really feel like you are "away" for the weekend. Remember what I said above, about little boys and puddles......same below only bigger boys with a bigger "puddle".....
Hard to believe none of them fell in!
It takes about half hour to walk down to the beach. Really beautiful through the trails. I was happy to return and see that I hadn't burned the trailer down with my new oven!! Notice all the EZE up shelters at the campsite? It poured with rain the day we got there (Saturday). Boy were we ever glad to have had two of them to help keep us all dry....
Steamed up the windows.....but notice the snazzy decorations!
You can't say enough about the smell of turkey wafting out of a trailer though!
Jasper looks a little unsure about the brussel sprouts....
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!
What do you mean, "packing up"???
It's always time to go far too soon!!!
Gus giving Grandpa a little encouragement!
Phew, so that was a great weekend. Everything functioned really great with our new trailer and we can't wait to get it out camping again.
A little Rudy update. We can't believe how big he is getting!! Wow, do we ever miss that little guy. Four months old already!!!!
Hi, happy handsome boy!!!
Whoa, is that cat really that B-I-G????
Love you little buddy!!!!!
Okay, I think we are pretty much up to date. I'll try and not be gone for so long next time but it's just pretty boring to post about working!
Happy days everyone!!
Thought for the Day: Be decisive. Right or wrong, make a decision. The road of life is paved with flat squirrels who couldn't make a decision.....
