Beginning of the Week....

Firstly, Happy Fourth of July to all our American friends. Sorry it's a day late but we were thinking of you all, especially when we could hear the fireworks going off in Blaine, WA last night!!  Hope you all got to spend it exactly how you wanted!

On Monday, Josh took Gus to a local BMX track for a bit of a try-out (practice). They both seemed to really enjoy it and I also really enjoyed watching them both. It brought back a ton of memories. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more....

We had Josh at this very same track in Langley. It wasn't very organized and we didn't stay with the BMX thing very long. Just was no one to help you out, to teach you about the organization, etc. Oh well. Instead, we spent nearly 8 years competitive go-kart racing instead. We met the most amazing people there so it all turned out well.

Dad at registration....

A little early practice on the small track...

Working on giving me a "V" for victory/peace sign.....
Work in progress....

Little bro always nearby.....

Dad running to keep up with the first big downhill....

Again, not sure just who enjoyed it more...Gus or Josh!!

On Sunday, Bob & Danna, our New Westminster pals who like to travel about as much as us only they tickle their toes in Europe, came for dinner. They have just returned from 7 weeks between Italy and Portugal. You world travellers, you!!! Welcome to our new casa!!

They brought some cooked crab with them for us to feast on later. It was quite fun on Monday night as we did not have crab crackers so Doug found the next best thing......pliers!!!

Just the remnants left!!

Today, Tuesday, July 5th is a special day. Our little Rudy is one month old today!! How did that happen SO fast!! What an adorable little guy he is!!

Hey, our little buddy....
Happy one month old Birthday!!

See you all soon....it's off to work I go tomorrow!!

Peace....

  1. So nice that you could spend time with family this weekend, especially the grandchildren.

Loves Doug's improvised crab crakers, if it gets the job done then who cares if they are pliers. :-)

  2. Everyone needs friends who bring cooked crab! Pliers sure do the trick. The grands are perfect.

  3. It's always fun when it's spent watching the little (BIG) children play. Just hearing the laughter and seeing the smiles is very contagious.
Did Doug clean the pliers first or leave that for extra flavour? LOL.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
