Quinby VA to Queen Anne, MD (129 Miles)

We are at a state park called Tuckahoe State Park. We tried to go to the campground in Greensboro MD but it was not a very good park so we opted for the state park, about 20 minutes down the road. To get an idea of just where the heck that is as it is hard to describe....we are about 70 miles due east from Washington DC.

We didn't like the park. It was just one of those so-so stops. This, combined with the so-so stop the night before in Quinby VA at the hurricane park has us feeling a little deflated.

First, here are a few pictures from when we left Quinby on Monday....

The park at Quinby VA - see the damage from the hurricane.
Just not sure why it has not been fixed yet. These were the "ocean" side ones.

So, onward and upwards. Can't win 'em all, right? We weren't in a hurry as we only had about 129 miles to go. Nice drive though.....

Now, this was a 3 state day for us. We started off in Virginia and cruised up Hwy 13, crossing into Maryland for a brief spell.

Maryland welcomes us and so does their flag....

Nope, I am not making this up - pretty crazy, huh?

Then, just north of Salisbury MD, we crossed into Delaware for a brief jaunt. We missed their highway welcome sign. Maybe they don't really welcome us after all!! We just kept cruising up Hwy 13 and then went west at Harrington DE and then back into Maryland to Greensboro where the first campground was. It just was a huge disappointment and that is when we carried on to the state park, back in Maryland (isn't this fun?) You should get out an atlas and see how these all tie in together!!

 Delaware's state flag....

Just random road things.....

I think this is Harrington DE.

Huge farming area.....

My idea of the perfect farm house.....

Once we arrived at Tuckahoe State Park and paid our $33 per night fee we got set-up. It was just disappointing as it was kind of a nothing park. Pretty in the pictures. Good for a one-nighter!

Pretty lonely! Only about 4 of us here....

No internet!!

HUGE caterpillar nests everywhere. At first, I thought some of them
were just growths on the trees. Oh, and of course, caterpillars all over the place!!

It was super quiet here anyway!! Sometimes that's all there is.....

Peace....
