Miami FL (Day 2)

Guess what everyone.....it's Ted Beatty's birthday!! For those who do not know just WHO Ted is (and I can't imagine that there are very many of you), he is Josh's brother-in-law, best buddy and Kathy's brother. Ted is a superbly funny guy and we love having him in our family!!

So....without further ado, Ted, here is YOUR sign.

Doug & I wish you a very Happy Birthday today and hope you are having a blast!!

We decided to let Alligator Man from the campground say it best....
("resort" is a bit of a stretch!!)

Well, we decided to stay here another day. Mostly due to the fact that we had a slight crisis of faith last night trying to figure out where to go next. I know that "not knowing" where you are going next may sound very, how shall we say, "romantic" at times but it is not, especially in a hugely populated mega-area like Miami. You pretty much have to know where you are going next. We were up until midnight, pouring over maps, etc. but with poor internet connection we couldn't even do that much checking as it kept throwing us off........all the time!!! Since we want to see the legendary South Beach area so we could walk along that pesky boardwalk with the scantily clad (apparently) women and men (apparently as well) so we needed to position ourselves somewhere "slightly" convenient to that. Finally we found something. First though, we will drop Euri off at a VW dealer for a much needed oil change. That leads us nicely into having a place for Euri to remain parked for the day (free of charge) while we get the bus to explore the beach area. Then, we will just come back to the dealership to retrieve said travelling partner. Whew.....Doug was getting nervous about the fact that it was "past-due" for that oil change. Sounds like a plan. We will see if it all pans out okay tomorrow.

So, after that walk-about and oil change, we are off to a Broward County park for 2 nights, just north of Fort Lauderdale. Easterlin Park sounds really nice and the area looks quiet and wooded. Not at all like it was at the KOA or near a city. We will report, naturally, once we are there. Apparently, there is WIFI at the office. You may not hear from us until Saturday morning though as it may be late when we get to the park and get set up. Even though it is a county park, it is still $42.40 per night....YIKES. Florida is starting to wear thin on me......

So, tomorrow is Friday and Happy Friday to everyone out there. We know how we used to wait live for Friday nights. In fact, when I was still working and I got to work on Monday mornings I would always think, "....that's okay, it's only 4 more sleeps until Friday."

Peace....

Thought for the Day: Sorry, can't do any "thoughts for the day" right now. We are lucky to get the blog up and posted as we are on some weird sign-in internet thing at this park. It works poorly at best so I tend to type fast and hope for the best!! It will not download anything of any size so I will have to rely on you all to think of great thoughts. I will come back to it as soon as we have "regular" internet again. Hey, maybe some of you could share your "life quips" with me and I will post them here!!!

  1. Inside the Clubhouse (Green building next to the office) they have desks and Ethernet plugs for you to get better connections. Might be worth checking in the morning before you leave.
We'll be waiting to hear about your next adventure.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.
