Lake Charles LA (Day 5)

Wow, the folks really moved into the campground today!! Guess everyone heads out to this state park from the surrounding area to enjoy all it has to offer! The people camped next to us are right from Lake Charles, about 10 minutes away!

Had a great visit with Mary-Pat today. She is feeling a bit better but still have waves of that feeling "I've gotta lay down" come over her. Hope tomorrow is a better day!! Just were super lazy today (I know, what a surprise you are all thinking as lots of you were at work....) Rode the bikes for a bit, talked with lots of campers and generally made ourselves at home. Doug did a little maintenance project for Mary-Pat. Disconnected and cleaned her air-conditioning vent, it was the only work that got done today!!

Finally.....we got to sit outside with our tea!!!
Look who is hanging around with Grandma & Grandpa - Gus!!
Kathy & Josh sent us an amazing calendar (c/o Mary-Pat at her
Abbeville LA campsite) so we have it proudly displayed in the van!!

This part of the campground is pretty much full now. We definitely
have a prime spot as we arrived on a Monday. We have lots of room all around us
but some of the big campers & trailers are not quite as lucky!!

Doug has the party lights out!!

Sorry, but that's it for us today. Tomorrow will be our last day here. Sunday we head to Breaux Bridge, 80 miles away!!
We want to wish all our family and friends a very Happy Valentines Day. No matter how you celebrate it or who you celebrate it with, just enjoy some love today, in whatever form!!
From our hearts to yours!
We dedicate this part of our post to our "kids". The biggest part of our love is to you guys!! You made us who we are, you sustain us with your love, you always support us in our crazy adventures and we cannot possibly tell you how much that means to us. You are our kids but more importantly, you are our friends. We can't even begin to tell you how much we love you guys!!

Thought for the Day: What I love most about my home is who I share it with.....

  1. Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy running away with Doug and Nancy. We usually go some place warm about now, but we are planning a big trip this fall. So we're staying put in the wintery Ottawa Valley. This winter I'm doing my travelling vicariously with you.
Your loving comments about kids prompted me to write today: out little girl arrived home for Reading Week yesterday. It's so nice to have her around.
Anyways, even though I don't post very often, reset assured that I am always stowed away, enjoying the ride.

    1. I thought I could hear some rumblings in the back compartment, Dale!! Just not sure how you got Sue in there too!! thanks for following along and we are really looking forward to seeing you guys in the spring!!
