San Carlos to Las Glorias

This was our travel day on Friday. Sorry we did not have wifi when we got to Las Glorias last night so this is a late post.....

We packed up from San Carlos and were on the road early in the morning (oh, that is about 8:30 a.m.) It was a long day's drive. It is a very agricultural type of area. As always, every tope in every small town has people selling things, anything really.

Yes, ANOTHER man selling parrots!!

I love these roadside stands. Everyone is quite enterprising....

Road lunches are not always as interesting as crock pot dinners!!

Definitely farming country

Well, after about 50 kms westbound, off the main highway, we came to what can only be described as an almost deserted town, Las Glorias. It was really kinda sad. Many houses seem to have been built, or partially built only to be abondoned. I suppose the economy and security have played a huge part in this. To be blunt, I did not like it, at all. I don't like the feeling of something being deserted. We went to Mr. Morro Hotel & RV Resort. In it's glory days it was probably amazing. I felt sorry for the owners. There was only one other rig here from Vernon. Those people like the solitude of the place. They had some friends come by and they stayed in the hotel. The owners opened up the restaurant and were happy to cook a nice meal for them. Take a tour with us......

We are only about 100 feet from the beach. The waves were really pounding!

Camp all set up....

Beautiful pool area, but it wasn't heated....

Hotel area

Such cool art on the wall....

A special shrine to someone....

Me and my travelling buddy....

Anyway, we were pretty disappointed. Maybe I felt just sad that such a beautiful place was not being used to it's full potential. Someone said that there are folks who come out on the weekend, but we were out there on a Friday night and there was no one else coming....

Anyway, we will only stay for the one night.

Cheers!!
